These tracks feature heavy guitar and drums. This is an arrangement composed by metal band Ridiculon for Cave Story+ on the Nintendo Switch. This soundtrack is included as an optional soundtrack for Cave Story+ on Steam, and as an optional soundtrack for the Wiiware version (in the Wiiware version it is selected as the default soundtrack on start up). Yann himself has also lamented the final version of the soundtrack in a TIGForums post. However, according to the website Tiny Cartridge, these problems were due to improper editing on the game tester's part. Some criticisms include straying too far away from the classic melodies, lack of bass, and weird pitch and looping in the tracks. This is an arrangement of the soundtrack by Yann van der Cruyssen, used as the default soundtrack in the WiiWare and Switch versions. This soundtrack was used for Cave Story 3D, and was also included as the default soundtrack for Cave Story+. It contains remastered/remade music pieces from the original soundtrack, with mainly electronic instrumentation.
The soundtrack was later remastered by indie game music writer Danny Baranowsky.
